about

Frank Woolley was Marks grandfather. One summers evening just before the first world war, Frank and his brother Alf were sitting on the dry stone wall watching their father unhook the horses after a hot summers day of haymaking. My grandfather looked up at the big harvest moon and asked his father if he thought men would ever walk on the moon. He replied "Dunna be daft lad, there's no ladder big enough".

Grandpa Woolley saw a lot in the 20th century and he lived long enough to have his question answered. He watched Neil Armstrong climb down that ladder to the moon.
